2009 RXT 255 IBR Error codes c2131,p1661,c2146

Getting these codes with the machine under load. Ok on trailer. Not so much in the water.
codes come and go.
I know the system is very finicky.
I charged battery, checked all connections, fuses. I looked at the IBR gate and it all moved freely. I took it off the machine planning to remove the IBR actuator and it turns out the white plastic friction sleeves are all worn out. Could this be the issue?
it is a but puzzling as the machine has 17 hrs on it. That much wear in 17 hours?

I don’t think it’s the. plastic bushings…I’ve seen worse,..but could easily be the motor.,,.(hopefully,,,,it’s a cheaper repair than the module)…

All 09 and 10 ibr will fail. Poor initial design and typically lasts only 3 or 4 years, just enough to get it out of warranty. Have replaced a bunch. The 2011 and newer as well as your replacement is much better and typically lasts at least 8 years.

Hello. Where the ibr unit is installed lot of damp and condensation gather’s there. Nobody seems to go in there take the cover off and let air get to it or even spray it all with w.d40. If not inside the unit will gather water and moisture inside and sooner or later it will fail. Good mantanince is the key to keep these things going. Seen a lot of them with same thing full of damp moisture . Pug pug.

My 09 rxt is doing the same thing. I thought it might be the wiring harness or the circuit board on the ibr motor since they were corroded. I replaced the wiring harness and had the circuit board professionally cleaned but im still getting the codes. I'll try checking the battery terminals, hopefully its that simple.

Unfortunately it is the IBR unit.
I had to wait 4 months to get one.
Machine is being repaired as we speak.
It is not a cheap fix.

Damn, I'd love to know if that ends up working. I'm not sure how much more I can take with this jet ski lol
