It's not really a big deal to bring it over the border. I just got a 2002 RX with a 2002 Shoreland'r trailer from OHIO and it was easy.

To get the trailer just get the trailer VIN ahead of time and call the Registrar of Imported Vehicles (1-888-848-8240) and see if it is valid to bring into Canada.

If it is clear then make sure that you get a title for the trailer. Bring this with the receipt of purchase to the border. You pay GST at the border and they fill out the RIV form 1. Pay the RIV fee of $204.75 online at www.riv.ca instead of at the border and they email you RIV form 2. Take this form to a Canadian Tire and they inspect the trailer and stamp form 2. Take boths form and title and bill of sale to license office where you pay PST on the trailer and get your new Ontario ownership.
