Hi, I've owned a couple of skis, but never a 4stroke, nor a supercharged ski. I'm possibly looking to buy a 2008 Seadoo Wake 215. Is there anything I'd need to look out for? Any common problems for the ski? Also what sort of performance comes from it, I.e speed, distance on a tank etc?
Thanks everyone

I would say the two main concerns on this ski would be the supercharger and the IBR problems because of the lack of routine maintenance.
Supercharger:
The ski is 12 years old and should have documentation that the supercharger has had regular maintenance. It should have been rebuilt a minimum of 3 times even with low hours. If the supercharger has been recently rebuilt without previous regular maintenance be especially careful because if it failed because of a bearing or washer coming apart and the owner did not have the engine inspected that can lead to premature engine problems.
IBR:
Again if the ski was not maintained properly the bucket bushings wear out causing excessive play and a possible jammed bucket which fries the IBR actuator.

Maintenance documentation and ski history.

Performance wise mine does 60kts not trying hard, pulls two tubes, wakeboarders, skiers with ease. Handles rough water and two passengers. The 215 hp does take some fuel flow to keep it happy, we can easily go through 10 gallons on a active day. Pair it up with a Spark for a dynamic duo.

No IBR on 2008.
Your supercharger may or may not have ceramic washers. The best thing to do is to ride it and make sure it reaches at least 8000 rpms and 68mph.
