2008 SEA DOO GTX 215 Limited

I am looking at buying it with 96 hours. Does it have the new style metal washers or old ceramics? Will I need to spend $500 to rebuild the supercharger?

Is it a good ski? I have a 2003 gtx supercharged that I love. Thinking about trading in my 1996 GTX because I am getting a little tired of the 2 cycle.

Any help? is the 2008 gtx limited 215 a good ski?

This is my first season on jet skis and I am addicted.

Great ski but at 96hrs regardless of which washers it has (most likely the good steel ones) it will need a full rebuild. If the owner claims it has been rebuilt ask for paperwork to prove it or it hasn't been. Water test is a must.

i myself, have an 06 gtx limited.. its one of the top of the line luxury skis.. awesome ride quality and its pretty quick too.. if you dont mind me asking.. how much are you planning on spending?

At 100 hrs it needs a total rebuild.

I think in 09 there was a shaft upgrade as well.

If you get the kit get the upgraded shaft. Someone here at the site sells the kits but I don't recall who.

Every 100 hr on a full rebuild for the 08. If you get the rebuild kit with all the upgrades which is pretty much what every dealer sells, seadoo recommends 200 hr rebuilds. I'd still do it every 100 hrs just to be safe since a rebuild is only a fraction of the cost of a complete motor.

I would recommend PWCMUSCLE.com for the rebuild kit. Every time it needed something they were very helpful and shipping is quick. Doesn't hurt that they offer a discount the forum members also. There should be a banner at the top of the page you can click on. You can pretty much find them online from any retailers within $20 of each other so I guess it's your preference. Just make sure you get the upgraded kit that came out in 2012 I believe. That is supposed to be good for 200 hrs between rebuilds.

Who will do the supercharger rebuilds if I have all the parts and supercharger is off the ski 05 RXT? just purchased the kit off craigs list for 200 with all the tools new in box.
