2008 rxtx dragging

When the PwC is under medium to high throttle it reduces revs for a second and feels like it’s dragging. At first I thought it was the intercooler failing and water getting into the inlet however having inspected it it looks fine. I’m now thinking it might be the impeller, any suggestions before I pull it apart?
