2008 RXP 255 Hesitation Issue

I have a 2008 RXP 255 and it hesitates at full throttle. You can see the tach job from 8200 rpm to 7500 rpm.


If I give 1/2 throttle, it will cruise to 65+ mph with no problem. It is only having problem if you give full throttle.


I have changed the plugs, fuel filter, coil packs and inter cooler.

Any assistant would be greatly appreciated.

So...you're cruising along at wot and it happens then goes back up to 8200...or it happens as soon as you hit the throttle...then climbs up to 8200?

It was my thought, too. Ever had it rebuilt in the last 7 years?

The super charger was rebuilt last year.
it feels like when you hit a rev limiter and it bonces in a car.

I recently pulled the several codes off the unit and cleared them. But the problems is the same.

It will go up to go to 8200 RPM and starting bouncing. similar to a miss and you can see the tach jumping form 8200 to 7500

Was rebuilt last year

Who rebuilt it? Check for loose or disconnected wires/sensors. Something about the symptoms reminds me of a knock sensor issue. Will check around.

Possibly an intake hose collapsing under high boost.

With the seat off...remove the air intake hose from the sc. Take it for a spin and see if symptoms reoccur.
