Hey guys, I just built a new SBT 4-tec engine and when I try starting it, it back fires and won't start. I spoke with SBT technician and he thinks the stator is installed wrong and out of time. It does appear that way but from what I remember is that there was a key made into the stator and a notch it fit in on the housing. Is there a way I could've done that wrong? It seems like it would only go one way.
Thanks,
Casey

Ok so I pulled the engine that and inspected stator and flywheel and they are installed properly. I'm at a loss. I really wish someone would shed some light for me.

Are you sure you got the correct motor with the correct crank and not a pre 2007?

Are you sure yours is a 2008, with a 2008 style motor?

Post pics and I'm sure I can help.
