2007 rxt

[Old timer]

Hey guys, got a 2007 RXT I bought it new, have had no problems what so ever, but now having a start button problem,don't think it's a Solenoid problem, when I plugged in the key it will beep like normal, but when I push the start button there is nothing, not even any clicking down below, but if I unplug the key and plug it back in it will start right up usually all the time, so trying to figure out if it's possibly the stop-start button or the post or maybe even the key, would appreciate your knowledge and thoughts on this please.

Check out replacing the red plastic button cover...maybe $8 at the stealership.

Oh...I'm not sayin it couldn't be an electrical prob. But the symptoms reminds me of an episode I went through a year ago or so. Key would beep...sometimes it'd fire up...sometimes it wouldn't...gradually got worse. Replaced the sun faded and hardened button cover...prob solved.

Cool I'll give it a shot thanks, but can't help but wonder how the heck could a plastic button causes those symptoms

Doesnt hit the contact switch underneath.
