New PWC owner and forum member. I searched but couldn’t find my exact issue. I recently bought my son a 2007 RTX 215 for lake use. We’ve experienced the same issue the last two weekends. It runs well all day then shuts down and won’t restart. It turns over but seems somewhat sluggish. Give it a week of rest and it fires right up. I tested the battery and it’s perfect. The “maint” light does come on once it shuts down. Any thoughts would be greatly appreciated.

I have an '07 RXT; whenever it's working great, but then just stops being great randomly, but then returns to being great again later, my problems have been electrical. Echoing POPPS, check your grounds! Last year mine was getting sluggish and acting weird and then randomly back to normal, and I found the one ground on the engine block had completely corroded off.

Worked great when it randomly touched the block, absolutely sucked in the waves with the wire bouncing everywhere and no consistent connection...

Any codes coming with the maintenance warning?

Or if your engine is getting too hot, the ski will shut itself down to prevent damage. Could be the reason why it works all day, until it doesn't. Then doesn't work right until later when it's cooled down.

If you can, get your hands on an RXT shop manual. They have diagnostic steps and troubleshooting that can be handy for checking that sort of stuff.
