I was driving my 2006 seadoo GTX 155 I just changed the wear ring and after driving it I noticed much more slipping on acceleration than with the old wear ring so I took it apart again and took the pump to a professional seadoo dealer and asked them if the wear ring fit wrong or something and they said it was perfectly fine. So I put it all back together and after riding it the slipping became even worse and it was shaking the jetski it was so bad. It looked like it was sitting very low in the water so I opened the back seat up and looked inside and it was full of water. I started it up and put it on the beach as quick as possible and let it drain then I put it back in the water and let it sit and nothing appeared to be leaking but once I started driving it around it filled right back up again. I was thinking mabey the driveshaft seal went bad but I do not know how to check to see if it has went bad. I'm stumped help me out.

It is likely the carbon seal that is leaking while under-way. This part is designed to keep the water out of the hull. However, as it wears water can enter the hull and you can get cavitation (impeller slipping) as it draws air from the hull through the seal.

Far left is the bellows, then the carbon seal, then in this picture the part in purple is the collar. They make an upated (thicker) collar. I would purchase the updated collar, carbon seal, C-Clip (under the collar), and new bellows.

Why? Because you MUST tear into this to replace any one of those parts. Replace them now and be done with it.

The collar needs to move toward the back of the ski. If it does not move, spray it with penetrant fluid SEVERAL TIMES and let it sit. Get an open end wrench that fit around it an tap the wrench with a hammer to free it up. Keep spraying and keep tapping. I have seen others use a piece of wood and pry against the collar using the wrench.
