I would appreciate some help sorting out a recent issue on our 2006 Islandia, which up to now has been trouble-free. The starboard engine fires up no problem but now is running a bit rough (mild vibration, increased sound). Relative to the port side, the RPMs drop often by perhaps 1000-1500 then surge back. As the RPMs come back there is appropriate thrust associated with it. The power is still there and I think the top speed is probably unchanged, but I have not tested this as I am babying it until I get a sense for what might be wrong. There has been no "check engine" light or overheating. The impeller area appears clear and I do not perceive any damage there. I intend to take the boat in for evaluation but all the shops are backed up by several weeks and I am leaving on a boating vacation in 10 days (great timing, right?). Ugh.

Thank you in advance for your empahty and any attempts to advise.

Unfortunately, it could be a bunch of things. Low pressure from your fuel pump, dirty injectors, TPS or MAP sensor going bad. Etc.

I would start with checking fuel pressure, and then take it to a dealer to have them read the sensors as the engine is running.
