boat runs fine under throttle. No problems there but idle is over 2000 RPM and the check engine P0505 code. Also, sometimes does not engage the starter on the first push of the button but does on the second. That is intermittent though.

Any ideas?

yeah, I got that off of researching it but that doesn't really tell me anything. How do you fix that error? How do you further diagnose it since that appears to be several possibly issues?

That's what I thought so I searched for "sea doo idle sensor" and came up with nothing as far as parts.

well, I changed out the throttle position sensor and it made no difference. At my wit's end on this thing. Any idea what I should try next? Local Sea Doo dealer lost their franchise so I don't really have an option to take it anywhere.

Thanks.

That code is referring to a issue with the idle bypass valve which is located by the throttle position sensor on the throttle body. This valve controls the idle speed. Try removing it and then cleaning the end. There is a possibility that it is just stuck also. The idle should be approx. 1800 RPM. DO NOT START SKI WITH IT REMOVED.

OK, when I go back out this weekend I will pull that off and check to make sure it is not gunked up.

Thank you.

ahhhh it was the more expensive one haha....

hopefully ya can get it to work without having to replace the piece..

it's always the more expensive one...just paid $1,100 to be my boat out of the doctor's office so hate spending money on this too but I likes my toys so I have to pay...
