About ready to purchase a used 06 GTX Limited for family riding with trailer. It has 53 hours on ski and has been taken care of. All I read about is the supercharger and the washers going bad. The seller had it hooked to the "buds" system and the rpm range was satisfactory. should I go through with it or what. This will be my first watercraft and just dont want to spend a ton of money on repairs. Thanks for any input.

It's up to you, but personally... for your first ski... find a non-supercharged machine. Chances are... if the washers don't fail and kill the engine... you will need a super charger service by the winter time. Unless you can do the work yourself... you will be looking at $700 to $1000 for the service, oil change, and winterazation. A non-supercharged ski is only a little slower, and doesn't carry the expense of the S/C rebuilds... and the engines live longer.

Trust me... Since it's a newer ski... I'm assuming that it's not cheap... and if you lose an engine, or just have to throw a ton of $$$ at it every year... you are not going to enjoy the sport. If you get a basic ski, it will still put a grin on your face... it will get you wet... and it will cost less in the long run. (in turn, making you like the sport)

Either way... good luck with your choice and let us know what the outcome is
