2006 Gti se white smoke

I’m looking into buying a Gti but it has white smoke coming from exhaust while running. Any ideas on what would cause this? Tried to upload a video of it but kept saying file ext not recognized.

It should have no smoke at all, maybe a bad oil ring, stem seal or they overfilled it with oil. I would do a compression test and see what the plugs look like first, keep note as to which plug goes with the cylinder so you can match it to the compression test. You could also take off the crankcase vent hose and see how much air is venting from the crankcase.
