Hello all! Need some advice please!

On the 2005 Challenger 180 215 SCIC the ride plate is sealed on only half of it. I need to fix a leak and wanted to know if I should reseal it the same was as the manual/that way it is or seal the whole thing? Does anyone know why it's not sealed the whole way around? Did they ever change it on later models?

Thanks!

Mine is sealed all the way around. Of course posting a picture of your existing sealing will help the extended seadooforum team.

Thanks for the replies guys. In the manual it says just the front, but I've seen and heard of other Challengers being sealed all around. Here is a pict of mine. The red line is where it was sealed.

It is easy to see why yours was sealed where it was sealed. If it were mine,,, I'd seal it the same way and then also add sealant around the edge as well. I would think this would stop any hydraulic type action if water gets under the plate.

What he said! My ride plate from the bottom is sealed at the edges. And that makes sense to me

Hmm, Ok. After a quick pressure test I found the small leak (see pict). Recommendations on fix? Unscrew plate and reseal it? Can I use the same Loctite 5900?

Thanks
