Just bought '04 seadoo bombardier sportster LE DI yesterday. Salesman/Dealer says only 49 hours and maintenance check last month. original customer traded up and dealership sold it to us for the customer. Took it out first time today and within a minute heard loud beep that lasted about 2 seconds every 50 to 60 seconds. Also, after 1/3 of the throttle was used, didn't gain any additional rpms/speed and was a slight miss. Plenty of oil, battery cables secure and nothing seemed to be overheating. Put on trickle charger last night, this morning still didn't show completely charged (no green light on charger). Could the battery be bad? It looks like a brand new battery.

Sounds like a low oil alarm...which also explains why the ECU will not allow higher rpm's. I'm assuming that your boat is a Merc drive. Is that accurate?

dealer said needed new stator

Rotax. I read on another thread where someone had the same exact beep (2 seconds long every 50 to 60 seconds), but he said his was due to low/bad battery. In our situation, our battery never got a full charge on the trickle charger so I was wondering if a bad stator was responsible for the battery not charging, which is why we got that particular beep sequence...could that be the situation?
Thanks for the input...I'm new to sea doos
