So a little background info. My ski is like a RIVA Stage 1.5. It hit 100 hours this past fall and I had the supercharger serviced and then I parked it for winter. Before parked it was hitting a little north of 8100rpm and 73-73.5 GPS. Now after I got it out for summer. Replaced the plugs and checked the oil level I'm sitting around 7300-7550 RPM and some lame ass like 66mph. I checked the wear ring and it looks fine. The oil isn't overfilled. It hasn't had that ECU update with the piggyback harness or whatever. The shop that did the service doesn't have a BUDS system or any of the such. However. I got to looking at my 08 RXT-X impeller and then my RXP's. My RXT-X has the stock impeller. The RXP has a Solas. I'm going to first show a pic of the RXT and then the RXP's. It looks like there is something not tight on the RXPs to me or maybe this is just how the solas props are? Take a look and tell me what you think.

So what do I do about this seal freeloading around on my shaft? Can I remove the grate and put some loctite on that sucker and rescrew it in to the impeller?

If you didn't do ANYTHING but the Super Charger and now you have a difference, I'd be looking in that direction. Maybe a bad hose, loose clamp, or not a quality rebuild.

I assume the impellers in the pictures are the same as they were last year and all was good, yes?

Look at the bottom picture. Look at the green impeller seal on the shaft. I can slide it up and down the shaft with my finger lol. I'm thinking that is the culprit

It's called a nose cone....and when walking up the shaft will scrub speed..cause a bit of cavitation...ect. Will it cause a loss of 700-800 rpm...maybe...mine didn't cause that much...but..eh...maybe 100-200rpm. Getting the nose cone tight to the prop is a pia.

Who did the sc service and when?

The supercharger was done by a head brp mechanic of 15 years. I checked the slip and everything on it. Zero boost leaks. This has to be the issue. I have plenty of holeshot and everything. Just lost top speed. It's headed to the shop today for wear ring and having this nose cone put back. $240 for all that mess. I gotta just buy an impeller tool.

Yeah. $35 for the tool....$100 for a ring....easy choice. Reason I asked about the SC....sounds more like the slip. You check that?

Heck the tools I've seen are $15 and the ring at my dealer is $59.96. Wish the dealer had the tools for sale -_-

Get the longer prop removal tool. It'll allow you you keep the nose cone on the prop when removing it.

So I replaced the wear ring. Part itself was $82 -_-. It was gray as well instead of white which is weird but whatever. I got the impeller seal put back on with loctite. I'll have a chance to go out this sat or sun and see what kinda effects it has on it. This is the first worn wear ring I've ever seen but it looks pretty worn to me. About 1mm is ground down on it. Here's a picture.

Normally the white rings were from SBT and they SUCKED and were not 100% round. How does your impeller look? You should have went for a OEM Ring that is the new style- it is a solid blue color.

The new wear ring is an OEM one surprisingly. He said they're either blue or gray. (Went to SeaDoo dealer). My impeller looks the way it did when it was first installed. I'm in freshwater and its never sucked up anything other than grass so we're all good in that department.

I'm assuming you mean the nose cone. After a few min warm up....take it for a good spin. I'd then bring it in for a look see on the trailer. If it don't hold with the loctite by itself....sometimes won't even if you got decent tools...remove the prop and pump...this time score the prop's threads a few times around...then try the loctite and re-install.

I got a new Solas nose cone from the dealer. Neither one were the style with the screw in threads. Was the type with 1 ridge and 2 o-rings on the outside and 1 on the inside. I believe it's in there pretty good. I got PT in the morning to become a police officer then I'm heading to the lake to see how it all plays out
