My GTX will not start can you guy’s help me out. Here’s a little info my jet ski. It sat for two year’s cause of a deployment for the military. I had it winterized and all that good stuff before the long sit. So a couple weeks ago before I started it I purchased a new battery I knew it would be dead. So here is where the problems start’s. I put the key in got the two beeps and tried to start it. Sounded really good the motor was turning, and after about two minutes of trying it finally started. So I hooked water to it and let it run for about ten minutes. Then I shut the ski off and tried to start it again and the relay would just keep clicking. So then I removed the starter and put power to it and it spun very slow. So then after I bought a new starter not OEM just one I found on e-bay for 100 dollars. I installed it and tried to start it and it sounded really good like it was about to start and then the starter stopped again. So I removed the starter and now this starter won’t even turn. Is there a reason that my ski is eating starters like it’s been doing? I am about to just take it to the dealership and let them handle this mess. I am also thinking about buying a new OEM starter from seadoo and installing it but I do not want to waste 450 dollars on something that will not work. Any words of advice?

Was the starter you bought on ebay brand new?

Check the connections to your battery. Also make sure the battery has a full charge. Clean the posts and cables with a wire brush then reinstall them.

Two things here:
1.- Never operate a starter continuously for more than 20 seconds without letting it cool down. This goes for any starter for any internal combustion engine. Smell your starter. Does it smell burnt?
2.- If you use an aftermarket starter, it will not have enough torque and will fail sooner, they are all junk. A used OEM starter is always better than a new aftermarket one.

Well i just bought what i heard was a good starter from denis kirk. If this doesnt work im gonna launch it off Niagra Falls

Well got the new starter in and now it cranks but wont fire. So i took one of the spark plug's out to check for spark, And fuel blasted me in the eye's lol. Im ok dont worry just had to rinse my eye's out for a while. I know this is not normal? should it be launching out fuel this bad? Also should i put a towel over the spark plug holes and crank it till all the fuel gets out of there? Thank you for your all your help.
