there is a couple of thread on here with similar probleme but mine is a bit differente. battery good , connections clean , everytime i put the lanyard key in, it does a clicking sound in the relay box in the back and keep blowing the 25 amp Battery fuse in front. thats the only fuse that pops, if i disconnect the ground from the battery or i pull the 30 amp fuse in the back box the 25 amp does not blow. i tried to press start 5 time witout the key and get nothing, no power no clock ect. just a clicking sound in the back so i dont think its the solenoid since it clicks only when i put the key and not when i press start. i cleaned the dess post, the key itself with soap and water. hope its not the mpem, maybee a ground somewere ? please help

If it clicks and key is on where you hear the two beeps then arc solenoid. If it cranks then it the solenoid.
No key, no start it has DESS

You need to get battery load tested. Its is the ONLY way to confirm it has enough CCA to start it.

Disconnect all electronics and plug ea one and try to start it w/o blowing fuse.

I'm not sure w/your model to tell you what the 25 and 30 amp fuses are. C
ould be starter fuse or VTS if you have one.

Do you have a manual??

hi, it clicks as soon as i put the key in, no beeps, no power , just a click in the electrical box were the relay is. battery is brand new and good, i can jump de solenoid it will turn over, if it was the solenoid i would still get 2 beeps and power. so complicated hehe

The fact that the fuse is blowing is a bad sign. The click is the relay to send power to the front box not the solenoid.

Unhook the VTS connectors, put a new fuse in and see what happens. Then unhook the LCD harness out of the MPEM, replace fuse, and try again.

If it keeps blowing fuses through these tests then I would say with high certainty that the MPEM is bad.

ok i unhooked the power in the back electrical box were starer relay and coils are, put the key in and fuse did not blow, then i re-hooked, de-connected the second harness on mpem, did not blow a fuse, put it back on, de-connected the 3rd one, put key in and did not blow the fuse

very good to know

Your in better hands with Minnetonka and if you need parts he is the ONE to go with.

To OCOD and others that I correct...its nothing personal. The only way you learn is to make mistakes. Hell...I'm pretty awful with the Di info myself. Only reason I know this stuff is b/c my brother had me on the line about 100 times as he was going thru his Di. Took me 11 years to figure all this stuff out, all of which came from internet forums...zero formal training.

He had traced it down to a bad relay box; replaced it with a OEM out of the box...and it was bad. He then spent like 4 hours going thru everything to figure out it was a DOA relay.

He was not blowing fuses though.

My best guess is the VTS is going bad; although usually it blows the 5amp fuse (not positive the DI has a 5 and 7.5 fuse) so the fact its the big fuse thats blowing makes me think its the MPEM.

regardless, you need to unhook the VTS in the back; 6 wire plug and 2 wire plug then try it.

its getting complicated for me hehe, the vts is behind the electrical box , i did took the 7.5 vts fuse out and put the key in, blow the 25 amp battery fuse again. i guess i will bring it to the dealer. hope its not the mpem. thanks for all your help :) let me know if ever you think of something else

We got him in the right direction on unplugging stuff to find VTS as possible short and getting new customer..
