2003 GTX "check engine" warning

Just bought the ski, only been out a few times. I'm getting a warning buzzer and a "check engine" display. I'm not sure were to even begin. I tried pushing the SET button 5 times and it Beeps one long beep and says END. The ski has 75 hours. I am not sure of it's history. Any help with this is appreciated. Thanks.

Yes maybe.
Oil pressure sensors or temp.
Back flush the innercooler by taking off both of its hoses.

The "check engine" warning goes away when I remove the lanyard and power back up. The two times it happened I immediately took her out of the water so I'm not sure how soon the warning would(if) come back. The first time it happened I had been riding it hard for several hours. The second time it happened I had been riding pretty mellow for about an hour.

There is no change in performance. She runs great, other than the warning beeper.

I simply have no idea where to begin.

You have to press set 5 times while the check engine light is on and happening. Once you shut it off, the code may become inactive and will no longer show up when pressing set which then will only be able to be read by BUDS or Can Doo.

Probably just the exhaust temp sensor. Reason is that that particular fault doesn't store the code when shut down.

Might have junk clogging the exhaust cooling circuit.

Looked over everything and found the battery terminals to be loose and dirty. I cleaned them and tightened them. Rode for 3 solid hours today without a warning buzzer. Not sure if this fixed my issue or not. Keeping my fingers crossed.

I put another 5 hours on it and the alarm has not sounded again. I think I may have fixed it.
