i have a 2003 GTX SC limited. the problem, we could not pull a wakeboard out of the water, it reved high but didn't go anywhere. when not pulling the wakeboard, it seems to run fine and has a top speed of 57. ( i have seen other threads where their speed was much higher for a SC/ 185 hp) I was told that i might need a new wear ring.. i have not capitation with it. My other seedoo (RXT) pulled the wakeboard up without a problem, we even had to let off the throttle.

thanks for your help, i am looking for recommendations.

If you get good engine RPMs then the issue is in the drive system. If the impeller looks good then you would need a wear ring.

the distance between the impeller and the wear ring shouldn't be any fatter then the width of a dime..

BTW are you measuring your speed from the speedo or an actual GPS.. if its from the speedo its usually faster then what your actually going which, in your case, would worry me.. my 215 hits 67 mph on the gps but says close to 70 on the speedo.. what are your max RPMS?

I have a 2003 Seadoo ZgTX 185hp Supercharger... I dont use to hit the throttle full speed... In fact, i usually "cruise" around 5k rpm most of the time... Its like 30 mph...

When i pull my nephews on a wakeboard or tube.. I might go 5k to 6k rpm... I think weight of the skier might count... But also the wear ring..

To be honest with you... I dont have much experience on jetskies.. But might little info might help you.... Maybe no... But at least i try to help a little...

Good luck anyway... I hope you can pull your buddies easy next time..!!!!

thanks for the replys, yes i am measuring the speed from the speedometer, not a gps,,, my rxt shows 69, but the GTX shows 56/57, it does have some hesitation in the bottom end.

okay the reason i ask is because 57 seams a bit "low" for a 185.. i think you should inspect and probably replace the wear ring and go from there.. just seams like its shot or its on its way out for sure.
