2003 GTX 4-tec (NOT supercharged). Runs great for 10-15 minutes. Then won't run over about 35mph and at lower rpms. It limps home. while engine still running it pops code P1681 on the display. Idles fine. I press START/STOP button and it doesn't shut off. I unplug the key and engine shuts off. I then plug key back in and try START/STOP button. It won't start or even turn over. I press the SET button 5 times and no codes at all, only the word END. Let it sit a while (time varies) and then it will start right up and then run fine. I checked the oil level and it is exactly in the center of the operating range as it should be, 30 seconds or so after stopping the engine. Total time on ski is 129.5 hours. It has NEVER been in salt water/ALWAYS has been run in fresh water. HELP!!!!!! Has anyone experienced this problem or have any ideas/knowledge. THANK YOU IN ADVANCE to all who might reply.

note from Bills86e

Probly got to take it in and get it on BUDS. Re-set tsp to zero. Dielectric grease
all electrical connections, pins- male/female, fuses & holders.

I think I figured it out. After reading on these forums for a few hours, I fully charged the battery and then checked and found that the exhaust hose was not connected in the back of the ski. I reconnected the exhaust hose and tightened the band clamp. (I also believe I probably should get a starter relay, but the local dealer won't have them in stock until later this week.) Anyway, I started the ski and it ran great (56mph over choppy water and never missed a beat. I then went back to the pier and promptly the waves pushed me under the pier and cracked/broke the front storage cover/hood. So now that my mechanical issues are fixed, I have a cosmetic problem. Does anyone have/know where to find a used 2003 GTX 4-tec hood (red) that I can buy for a reasonable price? Any help would be appreciated. Thanks.

Guage is out

The guage is out my 2003 GTX Supercharged ski. I checked 1 amp fuse it seems to be good. I was told the connection might need to be greased. Can someone explain where this connection is and what type of grease to use.

Thanks,

Bob
