I came across this wiring Rig on a 2003 GTI 717 engine. Looking at the wiring diagram I can't quite figure out what happened to make this jumper necessary (the red wire connected to the rectifer plug and it stretches aross to connect to the positive battery post) . Looks like they are pulling a 12 volt charging circuit for the battery or maybe feeding 12 volts to someplace it ain't gettin. LOL I run across some strange stuff for sure.
