My 2002 XP came from a less than 100% work shop. (work, not stolen).

Anyway, am I missing 2 vents on the very front of my ski? In the 2001 FSM I see the attached photo, which shows 2 black tubes infront of the oil resiviour. my ski does not have them. Mine is a 2002, so... did they do away with them in 02, or am I missing parts?

thanks!

I haven't looked at 2002 XP up close, but I would venture to say that if the holes are there, the hoses should definitely be there.

Yes. However, I did a stare and compare of the two Body components with the parts finder and it appears that they may have relocated those two vents and hoses to underneath the seat, just behind the hoses to the rear of the open engine compartment.

the large holes exist in my ski, i'm not sure how they would prevent water from entering the engine, but i'd put them back on if they are factory on the 02. (the tubes) I will get a photo tonight if i have time. Been busy working to pay for the damn toys!

the tubes I am describing are approx 18" long and 4" around (diameter)

You know what! I think they removed them... they are fiberglassed flat. I wondered why it was so perfectly flat/round.

so the 01 and older had it, but not the 02... hmmm... now i remember... I'll get a pic.

stupid me for posting before looking at my own ski!

I am however wondering if I could run another buildge pump in mine, attached to the same circuit.... so it's only on w/the ski.

I can sink this thing up to the handlebars 100x in a row... only problem is then it gets SO MUCH water in it. a quick ride 1-2 miles drains it, but I'd like to keep playing / flipping / sinking...

If the holes are there, I would replace the tubes. Otherwise, that thing will fill up and sink really fast if it capsizes. Even if it doesn't sink, you could get enough water to ingest in engine when turned back upright and cranked.
