2002 Sea Doo GTX Bombadier problem

Hey guys, first post here. I was driving my 2002 sea doo GTX today at about 45 mph and all of a sudden the vehicle came to a complete stop. Heard a grinding noise as this happened. Wave runner will start and run but will only go about 5 mph. Any acceleration above that leads to an intense rattle in the engine. Any insight as to what this m might be would be great. Thank you.

Sounds like something is stuck in your impeller. Is the engine revving high (rpm)?

yes. engine will rpm just not accelerate

Have a look at your intake grate under the ski and then inside the impeller at the back. It could be anything: aquatic plant, a rope or fishing line (the worse). A few weeks ago I sucked up some big aquatic plants and I had to stop by the shore to remove what I could from under (I finally mulched the plant and the ski came back to normal).
