2002 GTX RFI Hood

Boy O Boy, this jet ski... LOL Mechanically complete. I can't wait to get it on the water but it's too Ugly. I don't have a paint booth set up so I gotta do a lot of improvising. I believe in doing the best job I can so.... she's all painted up. Now the rest of the ski is gonna look ugly. LOL I still have a few days work. I do like these RFIs. Funny how the color looks but I matched the swatches pretty close. I guess it is the sun and the shade makes it look a lot darker. The gloss is picking up everything like a mirror. That paint sure ain't cheap any more.

Thanks but as you know that is a hell of a lot of work. I need a paint room but hate it so much I won't make one. LOL I have no fingerprints at present.

Those aftermarket $30 Hood Deflectors/Gauge Covers are sooooo miserable to fit onto the ski. This was my 3rd one so I know where the problems are. They are decent but take some time.

I might mention this is a lot of work to paint these hoods the right way. Just in materials I have a least $200. I would never figure my hours cuz I'm so bad at prep and slow. If you could find someone to paint the hood for $300 I'd jump on that. Still a lot of work and care to disassemble and get it all back together correctly.

Of course now I'm painting the handle bar cover and the knee pads. Notice the water everywhere. The rain just keeps coming on down.
