2002 gtx 4tec bogging down hellpp

So jus got a 2002 gtx 4tec and I'm having an issue. Got on the water and once I throttle up it immediately bogs all the way down and gives me a very long beep. Don't think it has been run for a year or maybe even two. Any ideas anyone ???

Power the ski up (install the lanyard) and press the set button 5 times. Post the codes that appear on the information center.

I'm assuming I'm SOL and have to bring it in ? Was hoping it could possibly be a small fix like plugs or sensor or something.

It could be but without working gauges you cannot see what code it is throwing. Step one is to fix gauges

You could also purchase your own candoo pro which is a diagnostic tool similar to what the dealer would use use plug your ski into the computer, it's about $400. In fact if you do purchase new gauges I believe you need to 'marry' the gauges to the engine computer which requires a trip to the dealer or you can do it with the candoo. After all is said and done it might be worth the money to buy the candoo rather than giving it all to the dealer if you consider yourself mechanically inclined and plan to work on this ski yourself.

As others have mentioned doing anything else is just a shot in the dark. You could try simple things like check oil level, new spark plugs, new gas, etc. first if you wish. You might get lucky...

I agree with devonte007... Also Candoo will show you errors codes which are not showed on the gauge. - dont know why but gauge "hides" some codes....

According the behaviour you told, check if you have proper water flow on your cooling system.
Looks like a warning issue, like "too high temperature in exhaust system".

02 doesn't need the ECM married to the guage, it's just plug and play. just buy a used one off ebay.

long single beep at full throttle sounds like exhaust hi temp warning. clean your 3 holes in your j-pipe.

I also looked under the rear seat where it looks to be an air/exhaust tube it's connected but leads and connects no where and there's no where for it to connect. Seems rather pointless. This can't be normal is it?

It is normal for air ducts to be routed toward the bottom of the hull. There should be a large one at the rear that ventilates through the seat. It is for proper and complete air circulation. Remember, all engines need fresh air free flowing to run correctly.
