2002 gtx 4 tec with noise

2002 gtx 4 tec with what sounds like impeller noise. runs great and smooth. seems to reach normal high rev's with no vibration. Prev owner said it was always noisy. but to me it has a bearing type whine enough so that a neighbor said a seal needed replaced. any way to check this seal?

In water or out? If out, pump noise is normal

in water ---- Question - since it is closed system cooling how long can you safely run it out of water. i would guess a few minutes for diagnostics would be ok?

Please refer to the Operator's Handbook. If you don't have one, you can try to find one online or for $10.95 a month this forum will provide you with one and the shop manuals.

One minute is ok. Five minutes with a garden hose hook up (ref op manual). engine must be on first before water, then water off before engine.
