2002 gtx 4 tec rattle at idle

Good morning. I have a 2002 gtx with a 4 tec and at an idle, in the lake it has a rattle. If i give it just a little gas it goes away. Idle seems to be 1900 rpm and a little gas is 2200 rpm. This is the 2nd year i have owned it. Is this normal? Thanks Tim

This often is common, its just some prop lash/play,,in the pump,,,on the trailor,,,but there should be no rattle in the water.

Mine does the exact same thing. I have an 02 and 03. It’s worse on the 02. I rebuilt the pump and it’s still there. Might be normal.

Have had a 02 for several years and its always made that rattle, but pretty much just on the first cold start. Once its warmed up and been running its not really noticed.
