What is your goal?

Yes and no is the answer. But if we know what you are after, that would help up help you.

If you simply want to eliminate it, no. The solenoid can handle 100% of the voltage and amperage from the battery where almost nothing else can.

I would like to install a modern one with just two post and a plug. like we use on a two stroke. my dealer want $125.00 for that soleniod

Ok,,,Yes,, you can get a Ford Solenoid. They are very similar to that of our Seadoo. You will have to modify the trigger wire(s), but it is an easy process. Instead of a plug on the end, you will have to install small eyelet connections. One will be a ground and one will got to the small post that gets positive voltage to activate the solenoid.

The 2002 4tec solenoid is different from all the other solenoids. I don't think you can bypass this and use a normal one unless you replace the other electronics as well. When they don't work, I buy used ones off ebay. They are a little more expensive but not too bad. Who knows why SeaDoo used this for the introduction of the 4tec but they switched back to the old style pretty quickly. See ebay link for example...

I agree,, it sure looks different. I would have to look up the schematics and trace things backwards to determine how or if it could be bypassed.
