I'm a new owner of a 2002 Challenger 1800, I have had the boat out a few times on the lake. On the last trip out I went into some shallow water that was very weedy. I was going pretty slow but I am sure I sucked up some weeds getting out of that area. I made it back to the dock but I tried to add some throttle when I was clear of the weeds, there seemed to be noticable power loss. I didn't force it and took my time getting back. I want to check to see if there are any weeds stuck in there, besides sticking my arm in the intake is there any other way for me to check that all is clear before the next time I take it out.

Thanks in advance.

That reply doesn't sound too promising, am I in my more for than I thought? Is there anything I could take apart? Or do I fish for what I can get and then take her out for a spin? Is there anything I can look for to see if there might be potential for more damage if I take it back out on the lake?

Thanks for the quick reply.

Take a look in the jet pump front and rear. If you don't see anything, it should be fine. Start it up if you want on the trailer, and listen for anything in the pump...uh just don't look at it while it is running as the engine is a direct drive continuous rotating drive.(the impeller is always spinning)
