Hello Everyone, I need some much needed help

I have a 2002 and 2003 GTX DI and today I went to the lake. When we started off my wife was on the 2002 and I was on the 2003. She started the day running around 45 mph and I was running about 53mph. Well after several hours she told me that her speed had reduced to around 35 mph. After Riding hers for a while a noticed at 6700 rpms I was only doing 35mph.
While she kept riding hers and I got back on mine well the same thing happend to mine I went from 53mph to 38 with 6700 rpms. I need some help on what to look for and to check. Thanks (DONT TELL MY WIFE, I TOLD HER THAT I COULD FIX THIS MYSELF)

Sounds like wear rings, why it would happen to both skis at the same time I can't explain. Check for clearance of no more than .040" between the wear ring and impeller.

Hey Lou thanks for the reply, but your talking to a seadoo newbie. Is there like a step by step procedure for this thanks

You might have a bunch of seaweed in there. Jump off and swim under and pull it out, it gets caught in the intake grate. At the launch yesterday, a girl put her ski in a seaweed clump and complained her ski was "Broken". Hope thats all your problem is!

Bill, You're probably right, around here we ride in fresh water and rarely get anything in the intake, that would also explain why it happened to both skiis. I also didn't know what state Newman was in and never connected it to Florida.

Thanks,

Lou

well lou you were right pulled the pump off back and notice that the wear ring was all torn niot allowing the impeller to move freely thanks
