I bought a rebuild kit for my jet pump but I cannot for the life of me get the shaft to come out of the pump. Do I need a press to get it out? It has a lot of play in it so it’s not jammed, it spins and move and inch forward and back. Every video I see online they slide the shaft right out with no problem. Any help appreciated thank you

You should not need a press. Judging by your pictures, this one apparently had water sitting in it for a good amount of time. It seems your parts are perhaps rusted together. Have you tried penetrating oil? That one looks like you might need to persuade it wit a few whacks of a big mallet. (You will notice I didn’t say hammer)
Thanks so much for the reply!! I’m gonna try some penetrating oil now. It’s just so weird because the shaft moves up and down and can turn pretty easily. The bearing are definitely disintegrated out of existence. I hit it with a mallet already but I was hesitant to use too much force. I’ll update
