What preventive/regular maintenance should i be doing. Secondly my throtle cable wont maintain a consistent mid speed. It wants to bounce up and down between 10-20knots. I have to stay on the throttle constantly. This makes for a tough ride for passengers behind on tow.

On mine, I add stabilizer/ethanol treatment to the gas at every fill up, I also fill the oil tank at each fill up. I check the spark-plugs and raves about every 4 times out. I keep a battery tender on when not in use.

As for your throttle cable bouncing, there is an adjustment on the control handle to tighten up the lever so it does not move as easily. You could try that and see if it stops the bounce.

Yep... what he said.

Also... since yo have a 951 engine... you may be trying to hold the engine right where the RAVE valves are opening. When they do... you get a jump in RPM.

Other than that... you have yearly maintenance. Winterize the boat properly... check the oil system (Clean/bleed ever 2 to 3 years)... check the jet pump to make sure water didn't get into it.

Sorry, but gonna have more questions...what and where is the r.a.v.e. valve? When u say clean and bleed oil are u meaning the two stroke oil? Wherr is the jet pump?
As far as the trottle u sound righg. Ill try to keep it at 12knots for my 6 year old to kneeboard. It may there for a little then on its own it just goes faster to about 20. Then i have to throttle down. Thanks guys.
