2001 Speedster totaled- salvage value?

Just got word that my Speedster is totaled do the cost on the engine repair being more than the insured value (Merc 240).

It's a shame as i just put a new impeller, wear ring and grate on the boat.

I can pick this up cheap from the insurance company, but not sure I want to go thru the work of parting it out for finding an cheaper alternative to the engine repair (no compression in 1 cylinder)

ouch.. I have my claimed at 11k... and I didnt know Engine failure was covered under insurance... If it is then I maybe able to breathe better while driving the boat now...

Who do you use for your boating insurance ?

I am curious as well. How can you insure the engine. Which company do you use and is it an extra policy? i might have to look into that.
