2001 gtx di maintanence light and other info

Recently purchased a 2001 GTX DI and noticed the maintanence message and red light illuminates off and on after starting the machine. The machine seems to run fine otherwise. Did a search and not a lot of info I can find. Tried to reset holding the "set" button and does not seem to work. Anything else to look for ?

Also what kind of rpms should I get running wide open across the lake. It seems mine tops out about 60 mph ( according to speedo) at 6700 rpm with a little chop on the water

I would never run a DI with the maintenance light on, but given its not going into limp mode it would seem like its the maintenance timer. But you said you tried that. Does just the light come on when you first start it & go off, or does it come on again & show "MAINT" on the info center?

60MPH is a really big speed for a GTXDI. Max RPM is around 7000 6800 seems about right on that ski with a stock pitch impeller. the impeller can be tweaked to squeak a little more out of it, but 60 on that ski is top of the mark in my opinion. my GTXDI runs around 57 @ 6850 -6900

Thanks for above, downloaded a manual for the machine and it says you must hold the set button while the light and "maint" is flashing. I will try that and see if it works
