I just joined and I need some advice. I was riding my 2000 GTX Millennium ( Carb, not FI ) sunday and it was running great. I jumped a wave and when I came down I hit pretty hard. My engine started spitting and lugging down and stopped running. I hit the starter and it cranked right up. I gave it gas to go and it choked down and stopped again like it was starving for gas. I did that several times with the same results. It had plenty of fuel but I switched to reserve anyway and tried again with the same results. We towed it back (5 mph) and I put it on my trailer. I put new fuel in the tank that was still 1/2 full, I took the fuel filter off and cleaned with carb cleaner, ( i just read not to use carb cleaner a few minutes ago ) filled it up with gas and screwed it back on. Hit the starter and it cranked right up, ran for 4 to 5 seconds and stopped like it was starving for fuel. I put new spark plugs in and still the same results. My ski has 108 hours on it. I was told I have the electronic ignition system just like my 2001 GTX DI. Also, I still have the gray hoses. Can somebody give me some suggestions to look at. I talked with my local SeaDoo dealer mechanic and he said there is a sensor under the front of the engine that the screws may have come loose and it dropped off. Said that is common with my ski. Also said the engine has to come out in order to screw it back in place if that is the problem. I just don't believe it would crank at all if that was the problem. Oh, I checked the oil and it is at the bottom of the front of the oil tank but is still several inches deep at the rear. I am not getting any lights or beep warnings. When I plug the key in, I'm getting the usual 2 short beeps. Thanks for any help you guys can give me..
