Hi Everyone,

Just wanted to say thanks for the advice provided on the form and previous tread links. I had always use the dealer to winterize my sea-doo. However since i got it running after being in storage for 5 years i thought i would tackle it and with the information on the form, links and the sea-doo manual i believe i was able to do it. I did two methods the first was using the submersible pump and running the ski. Once that was done i reused the captured RV anti freeze and then followed the manual and the steps i found here.

I have two questions before i can sleep easy.

1) I used standard MotorMaster fuel stabilizer is there a difference between this and marine?
2) After you run the antifreeze through the motor do you pull the line off the magneto?

When replacing my jet pump oil i noticed the speedometer wires were exposed looks like either storage oil or something eat the rubber/plastic cover is more then likely the reason why the speedo doens't work is there also a fuse that runs the speedo? I imagine the exposure to water may have short out the connection.

Just to recap and let me know if i forgot anything else,

1)I fog the engine by spraying oil into the metal air filter (air box was off) till i saw white smoke out the exhaust this was about 1-2 mins
2)as the engine was running i was pumping in Anti freeze
3)After the anti freeze ran through. I stop the engine and then sprayed oil down the cylinders and cranked the engine with throttle in full position. After that i resprayed the cylinders with fogging oil.
4) clamped two lines , First on the left side of the cylinder head and the second on the engine drain hose the T. Then removed the right side hose on the cylinder head and inserted funnel and antifreeze pour until it came out of pee hole on the back of the sea-doo. Once I saw the fluid, I replaced the hose on the cylinder head and removed the clamps.
5)Filled the gas tank and placed stabilization in the gas.

6)Change jet pump oil.

Anything else?

We all probably do winterization a little different. There are just a couple of things that I don't quite understand.

No. 2, I'm not exactly sure what you mean, by you pulled the line off the magneto, are you talking about the front cylinder head cooling line?

I always clamp the cylinder line drain, then when the engine is filled with antifreeze, I release the clamp, just to make sure the cylinders are draining, then tighten the clamp and top off the engine with antifreeze.

Also I add Marine Stabil to the gas before I do anything else, this give the stabil a chance to distribute through the fuel delivery system, so this should be step 1.

I also do the basic maintenance, including changing pump oil first, so I can turn over the engine to be sure the pump oil is distributed, I do all my maintenance in the fall so in the spring I can drop the ski in the water and go.

I've never heard of MotorMaster stabilizer, not saying it's bad I've just never heard of it.

Anyway sorry to be critical and you're probably O.K. for this year, just saying for next year you might want to change the order a bit. Here's a thread, pretty much how I do it.

Hey Lou, Thanks for replying yeah i can see your points on the the jet pump and stabilizer being the first things to do. That makes total sense, I plan on draining the fuel from the rail before i start it next year, MotorMaster is a Canadian Tire brand they were sold out of all the other brands today and i live in a small town. For number 2 since the weather is already cold here and is going to be below freezing this week (Night Time lows) I didn't want to hook up the garden hose and place water in the sea-doo so instead i bought two jugs of antifreeze and a sub miserable pump so instead of running the sea-doo on the hose i was putting in antifreeze fluid during the fogging process. Might have been overkill since i followed the steps in the link you provided after as well. I was just really paranoia about hooking it up to the hose at this time of year.

I am referring to the bottom hose in the attach picture. Since the manual talks about an air presser or antifreeze method i am not sure if it is best to try and drain all the fluid out regardless if it is rv antifreeze or to leave it in. Pulling the line will release additional amount of fluid so what is better to have as little as possible or does it really matter since it is antifreeze? What are your thoughts.
