2000 GTX air compressor confusion

I'm no guru but I'll be happy to share what not to do.... LOL That bottom line on the air pump has GOTTA be on there before the engine is mounted. I let the engine hang at a good working height while I connect the lines. The problem I had was I mixed up the line that goes to the front exhaust pipe with te line from the airbox to the air pump. Luckily I had another DI ski too look at. I spent days getting everything perfect... the ski was spot on too. That was my only mistake and it was BIG. DI's would be the most difficult to learn on but hey.... it can be done !! Feel free to ask... I have 3 DIs in the yard. This is a great place to come to for help. I have a lot of pictures which sometimes helps. Good Luck Again !!

Yeah I learned that early on. I had a week to look at it on the table. Finally decided to go with a small winch to hold it while I could do like you said. Make those vital connections and I still got some wrong lol.Screenshot_20200928-021911_Gallery.jpg20200920_151625.jpg .

Yup.... never done the tape trick. LOL That's pretty much the same hull I'm working on right now but it is a carb version. I'm not all that opposed to the DI over the carb. When they are working correctly you can't beat the DI. It's just getting the correct tools and troubleshooting procedure that works for you and the space of time between working on them you forget stuff. LOL

Yeah I just wanted to make sure there was nothing in the hull that I missed so I taped everything up over the side. And just to be clear I have had an advisor from the beginning to help me out but if you're not looking at it you're not looking at it and he's in Germany but he has been a big help. The tape was his idea. I just ordered the two throttle cables last night from SBT and an anti rattle kit. Not sure what the anti-rattle kit will help but it was only $30 and it sure rattles so can't hurt haha
