2000 GTX (951 DI) Oil Injection Question ?

Hey guys,
I have a 2000 GTX DI and I just got a new engine for it. I got it put in and every works fine. I checked the water and it flows great. I hit the starter and after a few sec. it started right up (yay :) i got it back together right)

Anyways, after running for about 1 minute and goosing the throttle a few times, only one oil injection line has oil in it. I need to know about how long it should take before all the line have oil in them. I could see the oil move through the one line while it was running and when I hit the throttle I could see it move pretty fast.

Also, given that the oil line isn't working yet would it be a good idea to premix the first tank of fuel? I have no interest in burning up a second engine in this thing. (i got it from a guy that blew it up... maybe one cylinder ran out of oil?)

SO, any help and/or advice would be great.

Thanks again for all the help. You guys rock :)

Before you ever "Goose" the throttle... you need to bleed the oil system. But I will say this... if it's been running for a full minute... and one oil line is full, and the other isn't... you have a problem.

DO NOT CONTINUE RUNNING THAT ENGINE UNTIL YOU FIGURE OUT WHY.

Most likely, the check valve, or the injector nipple is plugged up. Pull the hoses off, and check everything, and properly bleed the system.

When you were running the engine, were you trying to bleed the system, or were you just running the engine?

Normally, yes, you run oil in the tank to help lube things during break in... but you have a DI engine. The fuel is being injected directly into the combustion chamber, so it won't do any good. (that fuel never sees the crank)

With that said... I would pour a little oil into each throttle body to help lube the bottom. That's not recommended either... but it's better than running it dry.

I bled the system according to the durections given to me by SBT. They said to simply open the nut on the oil pump until no mote air came out. Since everything on the engine in brand new and the lines are too I can only assusme it is something. To do with the pump.

I was applying throttle to get the oil to move through the lines fast in an attempt to fill the other line.

Only 2 of the 3 ins should have oil right away, correct? There are only 2 injection points?

Is there an easy way to get the oil pump out without pull a ton of other stuff? Maybe I can pull the gas tank and go in that way.

Thanks for the help :)

Okay guys. Got it. I took Dr. Honda's advice and put a little oil in the carb bodies just in case. Then I started the engine and manually pushed the oil pump lever and the oil started moving through all of the lines. :) !! SO, I let it run about a min. like that and shut it off. repeated the process a few more time and I think we're good to go.

Thanks for the help.
