Working on a 2000 gti for a friend it was runing fine they came to the shore shut it down about 20 min later went to leave and it would not run. Out of water it will start but will only rev up and then go dead after a couple seconds it will not idle. I have not looked at this ski but he said the spark is weak looking and comes and goes, I am leaning more to a gas problem but looking for suggestions> Thanks

The spark on a SeaDoo isn't very strong.

If it's starting at all.... I too would think it's a fuel problem.

I think that ski has a single 40mm carb. I would take it off and clean it. Also, if it has gray "Tempo" fuel hoses... I would change all of them. (they decay and send green goo into the carb)

BUT... as allways... I like to start a troubleshooting season with checking compression. 150 is spec... it should run well with anything over 135 psi.

You might want to also remove the spark plug cap and cut off 1/4" off the plug wire end, then reinstall the spark plug cap. Use fresh spark plugs as well. I see a lot of times the wire end gets corroded from on water use and need to be repaired this way.
