Hey hello everyone!
I found this forum and it has some excellent info.I am having a problem I believe with my port engine.Im new to Seadoo but have been in boating for years and owned Yamahas and Polaris.
I just bought the boat and test rode it on a lake and it seemed to run excellent
Fast out of the hole and topped around 50.
I slowed down to idle and tried running just the starboard engine alone and it felt strong.I then proceded to try just the port side and it felt weak. But up on plane and cruIsing both gauges read pretty close to equal in RPMS.
Now that I have it home on the trailer..replaced fuel filters and oil filter.New plugs. and when idling..the starboard engine runs at 2500 and revs up well
with the rev limiter kicking in.The port side engine idles at 3000 and doesnt seem to want to accelerate like the other engine does.Any tips on what to look for?
Thankyou for your time:cheers:

alright bud, congrats on your purchase...

First, you should notr run one engine atta time, not good, next the idles on trailer should be at 3k, in water, the load will bring them down to 1500. Possible, the starboard needs the idle screw turned alittle. So, if rpms are close at WOT, the nthats an indication yuor pump assy is right...wear rings good, impellors good...

thankyou for your advise. It seems that the port engine does not really throttle up like the starboard does sitting on the trailer.I can reach higher rpms on one but the other seems to be lacking..not bogging though Does this seem to be the norm? or shouldnt both engines run somewhat equal?

sounds like you need to go through the carbs. That model/yr, on the carbs, are whats called the accelerator pump on the pto carb(back carb). From there, the little fuel lines deliver to the brass fittings, protruding through the carbs. At times, those get clogged up.

ok then thankyou for the tip.At least I feel I now have some direction.I will have to get a shop manual to better get aquainted with my vessel.Im reading that these grey fuel lines are causing issues. Is there a way of finding out how many hours might be clocked on this thing with a meter of some sort?Does something in the engine compartment retain this info? just curious
