Looking for a 2 seater, And a little faster. I planned on keeping the GTX for a while but it would work out better for my mom than it does for me. I don't need a 3 seater and I want something a little more peppy but still stable.

Thinking either an RX or a GSXL (as Chuck had recommended) but I like the style of the RX a little better. I want to stick with the 951 as well.

ps, the problem i have with the gsxL is that I find them all to be pretty ugly color schemes, but yes, they will offer more pep due to hull design.

 BOYS.

bell99man: I think the color scheme looks great. The LM decal is good, but I wonder if there is a source for your own personal design? Like "FLKustom Ski" done like a logo and your avatar on the back, just a thought...

That would be really cool, I've always wanted to design something to the effect of a logo. My issue lies in the sizing and fitment of how to design what would go where. I've checked out exoticsigns.com a few times and like some of the stuff they have but I haven't talked myself into dishing out $100++ for decals

i have a buddy who owns a shop that does custom wraps...im having my 96 xp wrapped this winter...havent decided on a design yet but it should look amazing and he does a great job......BTW i agree with SEADOOBUDDY.....just sayin

well, when my rx is done, perhaps we can work out an opportunity for you to try it, will be night and day compared to your sofa there, not insulting the ski, it is what it is. i rode the yami XL hull for 2 yrs before I moved down to a smaller, faster hull, and now i'm itching to get a cruiser ski that meets me half way in size/speed. and keep my small hull for goofing around rides.

my internal debate is whether or not to just bite the bullet and get a good used 4 stroke and get it over with, good fuel economy, nice and quiet, long range, and they're starting to pop up at less than 4K here and there but i'm not worried about the purchase price, but rather the repair costs if things don't go well.

I really like the RX, It's in between the small less stable skis and the big bulky one like I have.

Chuck had my GTX from Sunday-Tuesday putting bigger jets in it and he took it for a test ride and he said he was surprised at how agile my ski was for a big one. He said it was a lot different than the 3 seater yamahas. The GTX is a fun ride and has some get up and go for as big and heavy as it is. I'm glad I picked it over a GTI and I have definitely learned some lessons with it in the short time I have owned it (Winnie the pooh)

Chuck suggested for me to buy something blown, and start with a new motor under warranty. I'm thinking financially that is my best option.

I would love to buy a 4 stroke as well, Specifically an 07/08 RXT but I don't have that kind of money laying around nor do I want to get into payments at the moment. Plus I'm learning a lot more with a ski that was having issues than I would have with something that was turn key lol. Which model you looking for?

i have very little experience on the RX itself, i'm actually looking forward to putting some time on it before i decide its a keeper. I've spent plenty of time on GTX models to know what they are capable of, and their limitations, but yes, he's right, they are fairly nimble considering the size, and they handle chop extremely well, my only complaint is the 1/2 inch of air i get when i go over a wave :( which Is why I own the xp. I still ride like a crazy teenager on the xp, but i'd love to have the option to have a cruising ski for long rides or beach runs.

when i eventually go with a 4 stroke, it will probably be a rxp or rxt, but i'm a year or two away from making that financial commitment. honestly i have fun on the water even riding a crap ski, i just like feeling the wind in my face !

hmm yeah I got pretty comfortable with that 1/2 inch of air until this guy in a boat hauling a wakeboarder decided he wanted to play with the jetskis, I hit his 3-4 foot wake just right at about 40mph (and not prepared, just sitting and cruising along) and my seadoo was no longer touching the water, My feet were no longer touching the floor boards and I was no longer sitting on the seat. Thankfully the seats are comfy and made for a not so abusive landing lol It doesn't do much air time, But I'm hoping next time we take flight that I'm paying more attention!

if you wanna take flight come ride with me....Im still working on posting a vid of the riding we do here on the great lakes during storms its amzingout there....huge rollers

has anybody ever completed a BACKFILP on a sit down style ski....i tried all day the other day and could never get the full rotation ouyt of the ski...the closest i came was doing a nosedive into the water and hitting my chest on the bars.....you should see how black and blue i am now

its been done on blasters, all the time, its been done on x4 ski's but rarely. I know one guy that did it on a highly modded x4 up in bradenton, but he's kind of nuts ! i'd never try it on purpose, i prefer to keep my bones in one piece.

it dosent hurt that bad......well...yeah i guess i kinda does sometimes.......my wife just took out an insurance policy on me the other day..i just randomly got these papers in the mail saying i can die and she gets 250,000.00 if i do....try to sleep good at night knowing that ......ill get that vid of me trying to complete the rotation.....all my friends say im crazy to ......too bad you guys are so far away i could really show you how to ride

I prefer not to include bruises in my ride :) every time I ride there is always at least ONE guy that is showing everyone how well he can ride. (They're usually the first to run out of gas as well)

Plus I would not want to live in Michigan, POOP on that winter! There's only like 5 days out of the year too cold to go out on the water here. I've lived in Florida my whole life except for 8 months where I lived in Indiana (Never Again!) I love it here

see thats where you need a snowmobile......i ride snowcross in the winter so i look foreward to it just as much as summer....actually more......skidoo sponsors my sled so i have alot of fun doing it

yeah u will get used to it.....i uploaded a pic of myself for everyone to see......its just a part of initiation into the club......

noooo ! seadobuddy is the turkey, he's the one sitting on the internet pining for pic's :)

all he needs to do is type in "boobs" on google and he'll be happy...

ohhhhhh...i get it i thoght u were sayin that cuz of the armpit hair.....seadoobuddy is a pervert..LOL

lol...again.... BOYS.

So who thinks we should all get our skis RUNNING *hint hint Timmy HINT*

And make a trip from Miami to the Bahamas??? I keep watching these youtube videos of people making the trip on Seadoos and it makes me want to soooooo bad.

I think I would want to take a new ski though. Sea dreaming. Looks like a blast though

i'd consider it, (bahama's exhuma) some of the engineer's video's are pretty sick, i've seen most of them. roman (slowstang) did it as well with a group, all 4 strokes.

i'd rather start small and continue to expand my ride area around south florida from orlando down, there are several chains of lakes in Orlando that I need to explore, toro was telling me about them last week, and can be done on a long weekend, i'd love to find a way to run 200 miles of the peace river in one day, i'd also love to go from ft myers to lake O and back, or maybe even across the lake to the ocean, stay overnight then return, Also marco has some terrific rides around the 10K islands, we're also discussing a long weekend in the key's but it hasn't panned out yet.

baby steps !

and ya, i gotta get mine back running, its been parked 3 weeks, the wife is on vacation this week so i'm doing NO work on ski's and spending time with her, but saturday or sunday, i'll be working on mine again, well, i'll be talking to chuck about stuff while he works on mine lol
