2 stroke oil type

There are a bazillion threads on here about oil, several just today. You need to use an API TC low ash oil. Most people opt for the Sea Doo XPS or the Quicksilver PWC. you should use full synthetic.
Here is what the owners manual states:
Use High quality low ASH API TC Injector oil.
Do Not use NMMA TC-W, TC-W2 or TC-W3 outboard motor oils or other ash less type 2 cycle oil. Avoid mixing different brands of API TC oil as resulting chemical reaction will cause severe engine damage. Never mix Mineral or synthetics oil together.

im in need for some oil, as we are leaving in a few days for an outing on the water. But no walmarts have that quicksilver in stock. And i have no seadoo dealers around me. anyone have any leads on where i can get this oil, or the XPS2 oil on such short notice?

and yes wallyworld around here as well is famous for NOT having the quicksilver syn in stock.
or go to amsoil.com, "find a dealer" you'll probably find a local guy that can get it for like $40 gallon pickup

ps.. sorry, i'm reading your notice again, chicago is a big city (I was born in joliet, and used to run the Kankakee growing up), i'm a little shocked you can't find quicksilver there, are u SURE you tried hard enough ?
i really didnt know anywhere else that sold oil like this besides walmart, so i had nowhere else to look. But i looked up these dealers on amsoil, and will make some calls tomorrow. I hope it works out. Otherwise i checked the area code of the lake house we are going to, and their walmart has them in stock. So i have a few options.

I have test mixed both Amsoil Interceptor and XPS2 with Quicksilver fully-synthetic PWC oil. I let both mixes (50/50) sit for a week and observed no physical changes in the oil characteristics. I believe this is sufficient testing to justify this method of switching oils between these combinations: Allow the oil tank to run low. Fill the tank with the other oil. Ride the ski for a day to flush most of the old oil out of the lines. I have switched two skis this way with no issues, but I make no promises.
I was in need of oil. didnt know what the previous owner had in tank. crossed my fingers it was the proper oil. tank was 1/2 way empty. picked up quicksilver full synthetic pwc api tc. topped off oil tank and hoped for no adverse reactions. have been running for a week and a half, went thru 3 tanks of gas and ski is still running great with no dips in performance.
found a nearby dealer of amsoil. They have a few different types of 2 stroke oil, but they have the "HP injector" 2 stroke oil and (http://www.amsoil.com/storefront/hpi.aspx) there is the link
they also have the Interceptor and the Dominator. Which one should i go with?

For normal use on a 2-stroke SeaDoo, Interceptor is the best choice. This is especially important for engines with RAVE. You can use Dominator, but AMSOIL warns that you may get increased combustion chamber deposits in exchange for the superior lubricity. HPI and HPM are inferior, but they should still be good enough.
There are as many opinions about oil as there are people who have them. If I used AMSOIL in my 2-stroke SeaDoo's, I'd use Interceptor for unmodified skis seeing normal use.

but yea i dont think they sell gallons of the interceptor so i guess ill just buy a few quarts?
and thanks for the input i really appreciate it, because its kind of hard to find the differences between these oils to be honest. they all meet the standards seadoo wants, and all seem pretty good. But ill look into the interceptor
also the guy at the store sold me some parts unlimited 1/4" fuel line (polyurethane). He sold me about 9 feet worth for 20 bucks, but i will try to return it because for one its not enough and for two i can get it ALOT cheaper online. BTW this fuel line is to replace the tempo fuel lines (grey)

It's a Rotax exhaust system that moves the exhaust ports higher at higher RPM. If your engine has two black caps with red or green knobs in them, that's RAVE. It's the two black round things with red centers in the middle of this picture:
Interceptor is available in quarts, gallons, and even much larger containers. It's only about 2% cheaper in gallons and quarts tend to be more convenient.
I agree. If you don't have RAVE valves, it doesn't much matter. And people swear by all of them.

I prefer the amsoil brands. I run the amsoil injector oil in my 01gtxdi and the amsoil intersepter oil for premix with gas for my 98 Dp limited. Have had no trouble with either types of oil.
I use BRP XPS2 full synthetic, if you look around you can get it at a competitive price. I buy it from Mosites Motorsports in Pittsburgh, the last I ordered was $45.00 a gallon shipped. The original and still the best. I use quicksilver synthetic blend in my 96GTI.
In the past I have used Quicksilver PWC, full synthetic API-TC, but for the few dollars difference I have switched back to the BRP.

It does not tell you this on the label, but Amsoil HP Injector oil is "NO ASH" vs Amsoil Interceptor oil which is "LOW ASH" which makes Interceptor the correct Amsoil for RAVES.
My local NAPA sells quarts of Interceptor for $9.00
