In May I picked up a '99 GTXi. We used it a couple times per week for a couple weeks. Then we went on vacation and the Sea Doo didn't get used for a few weeks. The next time we put it in the water the "12V Low" warning was displayed. We ran it anyway. After a 5-minute ride, I killed the engine. When I tried to restart it, the battery was too low to start. I put the battery on a trickle charger and fully charged it. I took it off the charger and let it sit overnight. The next day we put it in the water. The "12V Low" wasn't initially displayed but came on after only a few minutes of riding. I took it out today without recharging the battery. The Sea Doo seemed to run worse and worse through my 30-minute ride.
Is this a battery that won't hold a charge? Or is it something else? Maybe the voltage regulator? Stator not putting out?
Full disclosure: One time the ski was put in the water with the plugs out. The hull may have filled a few inches but we got it out of the water before water got over the motor. I don't think water was high enough to get into anything electrical but I can't be sure. I pulled the Sea Doo out of the water and let it drain. I put the plugs in and ran it with no issues. Just making sure all "12V Low" possibilities are mentioned.
Thanks
