1999 GTX Limited Gauges Don't Turn Off

Hi all,
New to Sea Doo's but have had PWC for a long time. The Ski runs great but the gauges will never turn off. Every once in a while when I place the key on the Dess, I will get beeps but for the most part it never beeps. I have ordered a new Dess but Im not sure that will fix the issue. Thoguhts of the cause?

Also,
On the left side of the ski, it has an exit that looks like a water exit like on my Kaw but the hose is not connected to anything and I dont have a in hull water issue so maybe its a vent of some type. Do any of you know where that hooks up/too?

The beepers go out and is pretty common. It is also your overheating alarm so it's good to get it working.

If the hose is a small 1/4" clear hose it is the battery vent hose for flooded batteries.

Thanks for the hose answer, not sure its quite that long but it is an older ski and Im not the original owner..

On the beeps, more concerned about the gauage issue because it runs the battery down and think the 2 are connected. So is the Dess mount on the ski also a switch that tells it to turn off when not connected? How does it work related to switching on the power?
