Just got this gsx 787 (800) and been doing some minor work and clean up and noticed this little crack. Should I be worried ? Also what’s that part called ?

I believe that is the water cooler for the stator or something can’t remember. I would probably recommend buying the new peace shouldn’t be to expensive. But you can probably run it for now till the peace comes in

I don't see any crack.
I would be more concerned that someone has had those bolts out since the paint is missing, that and the oil looks wrong.

Ok. Sounds good thank you. I will change it. This will be done for 2025 season

I see the notch for prying it off with a screwdriver.
Is the black speck of paint missing plastic?

Your oil lines are black, that would indicate the wrong oil is being used. Or are they actually black hose?

Aahhhh , you see , this is why we need to stick together 😜. I didn’t think of that , but it makes perfect sense. Will it leak? Also I see what you mean. They must’ve drained it before I bought it. What do you recommend ?

It should be good to go.
I would back it into the lake and start it while still strapped to the trailer with the seat off. You should be able to spot any water leaks very quickly.

Sorry for the late reply. Thank you. I haven’t gotten that far yet. I’m still doing some work on it. I want to make sure it’s 110%
