Hi there!
i am thinking about buying a 1998 speedster 787. One of the cylinders is blown on it. How much am I looking at paying to get this fixed? Is it best to buy a complete engine and just drop it in yourself? Or is a rebuild cheaper? I would be paying for labour. Unless dropping in a new engine is simple. I have many mechanically inclined friends and family. I am not bad, just not the best.

The guy is asking 3500 CDN, but I think I can get him down to 3k. I looked at other sites and most boats like this go for 10k or more CDN.

Is there anything else i should be aware of with this boat before I buy, like common problems?

We have owned many sea doo's before but not there boats. I think they woud be fun, and we have many many rocks where I live so I love driving the jet, hitting ur prop on a reef is not fun, especially when ur full bore! There is sooo many lakes around here, like I mean at least over 50 within 100kms, its hard to know all the rocks, and when you take the same path, but this tiem u are over jsut a couple feet and u hit a reef, it sucks!
Sea doo is the way to go!

Anyways If someone could lead me in the right direction on the best way to fix this, the pros and cons or rebuilding, or buying complete engine. Will getting it rebuilt end up costing just as much with all the labour involved?

thanks alot
