1998 Seadoo XP Starter removal question

98 XP 951 - Is there anyway to remove the airbox and change The starter without removing the exhaust assembly?

Also water is leaking into the hull from the rear exhaust hose o-ring any suggestions as the o ring appears ok. Should silicone be added to this area aswell?
