Hey guys i need a little info or insight on my exhuast system ok as u probly know my xp 951 has a 3 piece exhaust system the big pipe off the motor , the long center pipe , then the muffler in the back of the machine now its cut in 2 places in the front just past the big pipe on motor and in the back piece just before the muffler now orginally they r connected with some thick radiater type 2 & ahalf inch hose with crappy hose clamps on them and they dont last very long , the clamps keep coming lose and the hoses blow holes in them i check for any restrictions in the exhaust system but doesnt seem 2 b any and not sure if the muffler has ever been replaced but my QUESTION is i've replaced the hose pieces with solid muffler pipe 2 & 3quater x 4 inches long with muffler clamps WONDERING if this is too RIGID and will cause any DAMAGE too either end of the exhaust system i dont think so but wondering if anyone has tried this or has knowlge of this tired of changing the orginal hose type every 5 rides. THX IN ADVANCE GENTLEMEN

Exhaust blows out

I have the same problem, but, your solution to replace the rubber connector with a solid pipe is probably not a good idea. The reason for the pipe burning a hole through it is that there is not enough water being injected into the pipe to keep it cool. Be careful running your machine with the solid connector in place, you are running the risk of catching it on fire.

Keep looking for a solution, I'll do the same. I am now looking at the RAVE valve on top the exhaust in the rear compartment, it regulated water going into the tuned pipe of the exhaust at hight speed.
